A lot faster if I could get a few days off this silly day job, (keeps interfering with my fun)

I could build that type of bracket easily, In fact to me that looks a lot easier than round tube attached to glass.

I wish I could 3D draw or even sketch.....

My only point is that we will find a solution when the time is right. I say to just let Danny keep going, and once the car is on the ground we can suggest whatever looks good, works, and is easy to fabricate.

Now I can see something like that as working and not killing my hood ideas!!!
Lean them in towards each other a bit and the square flat look goes away.
Thank you Pagester!

Exactly. We will have the illusion of a complex windshield without the complexity of making either a complex frame or complex glass. Attaching the flat glass to the frame can either be done by using that black silicone type stuff and letting it set up, or using a molded gasket that will hold the glass, which in turn has to be held to the frame. More complicated, but easier to replace the glass theoretically.

There is a real simple way to make a frame that is easy to glaze with DOT glass using some small square stock and a flat piece of bar stock welded to it. It is supposedly easily disguised also to make it look like a finished windshield...

For using round tubing look up Bugpack 6049... It is a chassis windshield rubber seal that grabs up to 3/8" glass and seals against round tubing. I asked them what diameter tubing it will form to. If it is small enough that is one option that I think would look good.. It could be two simple round tubes running from each side piece that has been drawn, making a slight arc for both the top and bottom of the windshield.

I'm so glad we aren't talking about this!

You didn't think we'd just let the horse lie there without beating on it some more did you?

the thing I like most is it could conceivably work for the windshield - but also a windscreen - and not look like a tacked-on afterthought

good stuff - nice way to distract from the day job
